ALESSANDRA MATTANZA

Alessandra has been an animals rights activist since she was a child, so much so that she is known as the “animal whisperer” for her gift to relate to and understand pets and wild animals. ANIMALS FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE Multimedia and AI Art Project was inspired her by the story of Machali, also known as Machli or Machhli. She was a Bengali tigress who lived in Ranthambore National Park in India. She was born in 1997 and died in 2016, considered the oldest living in the wild. She played a key role in the regeneration of the tiger population in the park in the early 2000s. She is considered a heroine and celebrated with titles such as “Queen Mother of Tigers,” “Lady of the Lakes,” “Tigress Queen of Ranthambore,” and “Crocodile Killer” for her ability to kill a crocodile and survive. She was brave, fearless, independent, but caring for the ones she loved.

Alessandra, born in Italy, is an accomplished fine art photographer, bestselling and multi-awarded author, and a versatile multimedia artist, discovered her passion for storytelling through photography at the tender age of six in the picturesque Italian countryside in Franciacorta and Tuscany and the waters of Venice. Her journey through art, literature, philosophy, and theater at the University Ca’ Foscari in Venice, coupled with painting techniques learnt in Italy and formal training at the Akademie der Bayerischen Presse in Munich, Germany, laid the foundation for her artistic pursuits.

From collaborating with renowned photographers, as Steve McCurry and Erwitt Elliott, to traversing the globe, Alessandra has called numerous cities home, including Venice, Brussels, Amsterdam, Madrid, London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Paris, Munich, Berlin, Tahiti in French Polynesia, Nairobi, Accra, Sydney, and Perth. Currently dividing her time between Munich, Helsinki, Paris, Venice, and Cellatica in Franciacorta, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, Alessandra’s nomadic spirit continues to fuel her creative endeavors.

A prolific writer, journalist, and photographer, Alessandra has contributed to esteemed publications such as FORBES, F, NATURAL STYLE, ICON, VANITY FAIR, COSMOPOLITAN, ELLE, GRAZIA, FLAIR, HOW TO SPEND IT, GQ, CONDE NAST TRAVELER, SÜDDEUTSCHE ZEITUNG, AMERICA, and SÜDAFRIKA BY LATKA VERLAG. Her work extends to collaborating with publishing giants like WHITE STAR / NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, GIUNTI / FELTRINELLI, HEARST, RANDOM HOUSE, CONDE NAST, FINANCIAL TIMES, MONDADORI, SPERLING & KUPFER, RIZZOLI, HACHETTE, DOMUS, and many more publishing companies.

Specializing in art, film, culture, biographies, interviews, and social or environmental issues, Alessandra is not only an author and photographer of illustrated coffee table books but also engages in the production and development of campaigns, videos, and documentary films (UNIVERSAL PICTURES in Rome, Italy), and many celebrities’ interviews, as Nicole Kidman, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Leonardo Di Caprio, Jennifer Lopez, Sophia Loren, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jesse Eisenberg, Tom Hanks, Jessica Alba, Eva Longoria, Kevin Costner, Matt Damon, and many more actors, artists, visionaries, and entrepreneurs. Her notable titles include “AUSTRALIA – THE NEW FRONTIER,” “MY NEW YORK – CELEBRITIES TALK ABOUT THE CITY,” “MY PARIS – CELEBRITIES TALK ABOUT THE VILLE LUMIERE,” “SOS PLANET EARTH: VOICE FOR A BETTER WORLD,” “BANKSY,” “C215 – THE STENCIL ART,” “STREET ART – LEGENDARY ARTISTS AND THEIR VISION,” “STREET ART IS FEMALE – WOMEN STREET ARTISTS: 24 CONTEMPORARY GRAFFITI AND MURAL ARTISTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD,” “STREET ART’S RISING STARS,” “TULIPINA’S FLORAL FANTASY,” “THE WORLD OF BANKSY,” “DIGITAL ART: 20 PIONEERS REDEFINING ITS BOUNDARIES.”

A recognized force in the field, Alessandra’s accolades include numerous prizes at the National Journalism Awards in Los Angeles.

Her paintings, fine art photography, and installations grace galleries, luxury hotels, and museums worldwide. At the same time, her multimedia campaigns champion various causes, including human and social rights, equality, antiracism, indigenous rights, environmental conservation, animal welfare, support for emerging artists, and the promotion of culture and the arts.

Recently, Alessandra has started collaboration also with a robot and AI to create magical digital art: “I like to bring the physical work to the non-physical world, merge them in a love encounter, a dance, in dreams and memories that run endlessly and are not replicable like emotions. I am fascinated by AI and the possibilities that allow me to explore new dimensions in ways I could never imagine in the pure physical world. I enjoy collaborating with robots to create and test their will and ability to create themselves beyond limits I would have never imagined.”

Alessandra’s artistic journey remains a testament to her unwavering commitment to storytelling and the pursuit of a better world through the lens of her creativity. Alessandra has always been an introvert, still avoiding social media and prioritizing her privacy. Just after the pandemic, she started doing art exhibitions to promote causes and journalism as a call to create awareness for a better world.

AUGUSTO FERRETTI, ARCHITECT AND MANAGER

Born in Rome, Augusto’s formative teenage years were spent studying in Tokyo, Japan, before returning to Italy to graduate from Rome’s prestigious La Sapienza University where he received his Italian Architectural Master’s degree and practicing license. Influenced by the rich architectural history of both countries, Augusto developed early on a passion for structural design and architectural ideology.

Upon graduating, he moved to New York in 2001 where he felt he could experiment with a wide range of styles and forms, and began working as a freelance designer for exhibitions, art installations, and trade shows. Projects included utilizing lighting design in New York Art galleries and exhibits.

In the following years, he expanded this work to include several large-scale exhibition projects throughout the United States. As a multi-talented and diverse designer, Augusto oversaw and coordinated art exhibitions such as the Italian artist Gaetano Pesce’s large-scale Pesce for Lunch exhibit at the ICFF; the inauguration of the Italian Emigration Museum in New Jersey; the Moleskine New Notebook Design Launching Party; Inner Earth Exhibition at The MACC Art Museum; and most famously, he curated, designed, and built the photographic exhibition of Bernardo Bertolucci’s Images in tandem with the director’s retrospective at MoMA.

During this time, Augusto expanded his architectural portfolio by working as a freelance designer for New York architectural firms on residential and commercial projects, utilizing his specific interest in contemporary design and minimalist features. Partnering with local architects, he contributed to the planning and building of a wide range of projects that included residential complexes, private mansions, restaurants, galleries, landscaping, as well as landmark and industrial renovations.

As his body of work grew, he began branching out as an individual designer, allowing him to focus on a more artistically inspired career. He began personally designing commercial and residential spaces that included both interior design and exterior renovation work. In 2010, he formed crAft-nyc, an architectural design studio involved with interior renovations of residential and commercial spaces and exhibition design.

Today, Augusto is working on the design of several townhouse and luxury apartment renovations in New York, as well as lobby designs, and is planning more exhibition work in museums, galleries, and in the urban environment as well as in nature.
